Narkanda,Kufri and the capital city of Himachal Pradesh, Shimla, recorded season's first snowfall on Wednesday, much to the delight of the tourists.
Jubbal-Kothai in Shimla, Triund near Dharamshala, Solangnalha, Marhi, Kothi and Gulaba near Manali, Kalpa, Sangla, Raksham and Chitkul, Kinner and Shrikhand Mahdev in Kinnaur, Rohtang Pass, Lady of Keylong and all higher reaches of Lahaul Spiti and Chanshal pass, Khada pather and Khirki in Shimla district experienced moderate to heavy snowfall.
Vehicular traffic to Rampur and Kinnaur was through Kufri but, with the accumulation of snow, it is likely to be diverted via Mashobra,said the local police.
Snowfall, which started in the capital city at 0730 hrs, was continuing when the reports came in.
The downstream areas of the state recorded light to moderate rainfall in the last 24 hrs.
