The western disturbance has become active once again in Punjab since yesterday evening. Light dusty winds blew in some areas on Thursday evening. At the same time, a drop of about 1 degree was seen in the last 24 hours. The Meteorological Department has also issued a yellow alert for today. A drop of 2 to 3 degrees in the temperature is also expected today, as per the Met department.
According to the Meteorological Department, a yellow alert has been issued in the entire state of Punjab today. This alert has been issued regarding heat, rain, and dust storm. The temperature of most of the cities of the state is expected to be around 45 degrees today . Strong winds, thunderstorms, and rain are also likely to occur, providing some relief from the heat. All these incidents are happening once again due to the activation of Western disturbance according to the Met department.
After Bathinda, Faridkot was reported to be the hottest city in Punjab on Thursday. The temperature here was recorded at 48.3 degrees Celsius. Sri Ganganagar in Rajasthan was equally hot, which was reported to be the hottest city in the country.
On the other hand, if we talk about the average temperature of Punjab, the state is still 5.7 degrees Celsius hotter than normal. While in the last 24 hours, the average temperature has dropped by 1 degree as per reports.
