In a stern move to curb the spread of Covid-19, Punjab CM
Capt Amarinder Singh on Monday has announced to impose a weekend lockdown starting this Friday.
The weekend lockdown will begin on Friday at 6 pm and will conclude at 5 am on Monday. Additionally, the night curfew timing has also been extended from 6 pm to 5 am and all the shops will have to shut down at 5 pm. The timings will come into effect from tomorrow onwards and will remain enforced until further notice.

The decision has been announced by Punjab CM on his micro-blogging handle which read, “ Due to continuous and rapid rise of Covid-19 in Punjab, Cabinet today has decided to impose daily lockdown from 6 PM to 5 AM and weekend lockdown from Friday 6 PM to Monday 5 AM. Urge you all to stay at home & step out only if absolutely necessary. Seek your full cooperation.”
