The farmers' protest against the Centre's contentiously passed three farm laws is in continuation for over four months now and the protest does not seem to come to an end anytime soon. However, there's a hue and cry-like situation in the nation due to the sudden spike in the Covid-19 infection cases, and the government is imposing the restrictions again to contain its spread.

According to the adamant farmers sitting on the demonstration, "Govt is over-glorifying Covid" so that farmers can vacate the protest sites of Singhu, Tikri borders. Farmers' have a sharp reaction to it and say, "We'll start vaccination drive at the borders."

"We will boost our immunity, take care of our health but we will not get up," protesting farmers said.

Pertinently, last week, when BKU leader Rakesh Tikait, who has been strongly protesting and camping at the Ghazipur border, said farmers are ready to hold talks with the government if the latter invites them. However, we would resume the dialogue where we ended on January 22 and our demands will remain the same.

Tikait said that the Centre must invite Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM), a prominent representative body of protesting farmers', for dialogue exchange.

"The talks with the government would resume from the same point where it had ended on January 22. The demands are also the same -- all three 'black' farm laws should be repealed, a new law made to ensure MSP (minimum support price) for crops," Tikait was quoted as saying in a statement issued by BKU media in-charge Dharmendra Malik.
