The Marathi film industry was left heartbroken and shocked after veteran actor & director Ravindra Mahajani was found dead at his rented apartment in Pune's Talegaon Dabhade. Ravindra Mahajani's death was confirmed on Friday and he was staying alone at a rented apartment at Xrbia society in Ambi of Talegaon Dabhade for about eight months. Notably, Ravindra Mahajani was a resident of Mumbai, but he was living in Pune from last 8 months as mentioned earlier. Fans and the Marathi film industry are now puzzled by Ravindra Mahajani's death. What happened to Ravindra Mahajani?
As per initial reports, Ravindra Mahajani's death came to the fore after the neighbours contacted the police on Friday around 4.30 pm when they noticed a bad smell from the apartment. After the neighbours complained, a team from Talegaon MIDC police station reached the spot, however, Mahajani's apartment was locked from the inside. As a result, in the presence of the local residents, the Police broke open the door and found Mahajani’s body inside. Notably, the cops informed that the owner of the apartment identified the body and confirmed that it was Ravindra Mahajani. Reports suggest that cops suspect that Ravindra Mahajani died two or three days back before his body was recovered. The Police informed the actor's family and sent his body for post-mortem in order to know the exact Ravindra Mahajani's death reason. Ravindra Mahajani was 77 years old.
Ravindra Mahajani is quite a well-known name in the Marathi film industry. He is known for films such as Mumbaicha Fauzdar (1984) and Kalat Nakalat (1990). He had a significant presence in the Marathi film industry for several decades starting in mid-1970s. As per Pune's local media report, the cops suspect Ravindra Mahajani's death reason is natural, however, nothing can be said till the post-mortem report comes.
