What is Nithari murder case?

As per the information available, the people of Noida, Uttar Pradesh were horrified after the mysterious disappearance of the girls. The incident date back to 2005-2006. The Nithari murder case is labeled as one of the most chilling criminal probes that were carried out by the CBI.

The Nithari murder case came to the fore in December  2006 when skeletons were found in a drain near a house in Nithari, Noida. Later on, it was found that Moninder Pander is the owner of the house and Koli was his domestic help and hence, both were implicated in the  FIRs.

The central investigative agency, CBI, registered a total of 16 cases, charge sheeting Koli in all of them for murder, abduction, and rape besides destruction of evidence,  and Pandher in one for immoral trafficking.

Surender Koli was accused of the brutal killings and dismemberment of children in the Nithari locality of Noida. As a result, he had received a death sentence from a lower court. This verdict was subsequently upheld by the Allahabad High Court and confirmed by the Supreme Court on February 15, 2011, specifically for the murder of Rimpa Halder in 2005.

The lower court in its ruling had identified Surender Koli as a 'serial killer' and therefore had pronounced that 'no mercy can be shown to him.' Out of the total sixteen cases registered against Koli, he had been sentenced to death in twelve.
