The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 kickstarted at the Chepauk with defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) taking on the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). While the IPL 2024 opening ceremony ended on a high note with AR Rahman along with veteran singers like Sonu Nigam performing for the fans, Shefali Bagga's anchoring style came under the scanner of fans. Coming back to the CSKvRCB match, the men in yellow made a strong comeback after RCB's blitz start led by captain Faf du Plessis. CSK's newly signed player Mustafizur Rehman grabbed 4 wickets that included du Plessis, Kohli, Patidar, and Cameroon Green. While writing this, RCB was 90-5 in 14 overs. RCB won the toss and elected to bat first at the Chepauk.
