BCCI Vice President (VP) Rajeev Shukla late Tuesday night revealed that Team India has boarded a charter flight to New Delhi after being stranded in Barbados due to a hurricane. Entire India is waiting for the return of Rohit Sharma & Co. to welcome their heroes who won the T20 World Cup 2024 after 17 years. It is said that upon their arrival in New Delhi, Team India will be hosted by PM Modi at his residence. As a result, fans are eagerly waiting to see the scenes of Team India, and PM Modi in New Delhi. Now, the question arises when will Team India arrive in New Delhi?
At first, it was expected that Team India would arrive in New Delhi on Wednesday evening. However, the wait for fans to welcome Team India grandly has been further delayed. As per reports, Team India's return home was delayed even further as the charter flight, which was to come from New Jersey (USA) got late in reaching Barbados. Now, ICC T20 World Cup 2024 champions are expected to land New Delhi on Thursday morning.
On Tuesday, Rajeev Shukla wrote, "Thank God team India is flying back from Barbados this evening to Delhi. Will be reaching tomorrow evening. They were stuck for three days there because of massive hurricane..@BCCI has made all arrangements for a safe flight of players back home. BCCI secretary @JayShah himself is monitoring the whole situation."
Notably, journalist Vimal Kumar who was also in Barbados to report India's T20 World Cup campaign on his YouTube channel said that BCCI Secretary Jay Shah has also decided to take Indian journalists who are stranded in the West Indies on the same flight which has been arranged for Team India. Not only this, Vimal also introduced Sri Lankan journalists who will be traveling with the Men in Blue to New Delhi. He further informed that since Team India will land in New Delhi early Thursday morning, then the Men In Blue may meet PM Modi on Friday. Because the players may get tired due to continuous travel they take a day off before meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
