Sonakshi Sinha and Riteish Deshmukh will be bringing the laughs and the frights simultaneously in the upcoming comedy-horror movie, Kakuda. The movie is directed by Aditya Sarpotdar and produced by prolific producer, Ronnie Screwvala (Sam Bahadur, Pihu). The film is written by Avinash Dwivedi, husband of model Sambhavna Seth, and Chirag Garg.
When and where to watch?
The movie will premiere on Zee5 on July 12th. The film features a newly-wed couple, Indira (Sonakshi Sinha) and Sunny (Saqib Saleem) who fall victim to a curse that plagues a village in Uttar Pradesh.
'Kakuda' Plot:
The plot is taken straight from the folklore where a a village in UP has houses built with a shorter door for a ghost, Kakuda, which visits the village every Tuesday at a set time period. the door must be kept open for the ghost to enter. If it finds the door shut, then the inhabitants of the house are marked by Kakuda, and only have 13 days to live.
In order to fight the curse, Indira calls on the services of a ‘ghost-hunter’ Victor (Riteish Deshmukh). Along with Indira and Sunny, they face the ominous ghost and help it attain salvation in order to break the curse. They are also joined by a friend, Kilvish (Aasif Khan), who puts up a brave front for the couple.
The film is set to release on July 12 on Zee5 OTT platform.
