Punjab Congress unit chief Navjot Singh Sidhu has yet again slammed Charanjit Channi government over the drug case linked to senior SAD leader Bikram Singh Majithia. Addressing the crowd
during the rally in Batala, Sidhu questioned, “Where is Majithia” and justified his earlier resignation from the post of PPCC head.
"Where is Majithia now? He is afraid of police and has gone underground," said Sidhu on Sunday.
Notably, an FIR has been registered against Akali leader and former minister Bikram Majithia in connection to the drugs case. The leader was expected to be arrested soon, however, there
is no information about his whereabouts at the moment.
Meanwhile, the senior Congress leader, Sidhu targeted the government of his party and stated that "registering FIR is not enough."
"I won't be silenced until Majithia is apprehended", said Sidhu, adding "an FIR was lodged against some leaders in sacrilege case almost six years ago. We're all aware of how that turned
out."
Sidhu also justified his earlier decision to tender resignation from the top post over the appointment of compromised officials in the administration. Mentioning the removal of IPS Iqbal
Preet Sahota and APS Deol from the DGP and AG posts, Sidhu said, "you all have witnessed what happened when these compromised officers were sacked. A case was registered against Majithia and now he's terrified."
Targeting CM Channi over "fake promises," Sidhu vowed that his government will provide sand at Rs 1000/ trolley, and sand and liquor mafias will be finished."
Sidhu yet again claimed that CM Channi has been making "hollow promises". "They are giving lollipops to people. Punjab is being compromised," Sidhu added.
The cricketer-turned-politician also spoke about farmers victory in the fight against Centre.
"Farmers won. They returned after a year-long protest, but nothing has changed. Did they get MSP? Will farmers won't die of suicide?"
Sidhu promised to provide MSP on pulses if his government comes to power.
