Uttar Pradesh Police and Karnataka Police on Thursday came at loggerheads over YouTuber Ajeet Bharti's arrest. A Karnataka Police team on Thursday reached UP to arrest YouTuber Ajeet Bharti. Ajeet Bharti was booked by the Bengaluru Police for allegedly claiming that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi plans to replace the newly-inaugurated Ram temple in Uttar Pradesh’s Ayodhya with a new Babri mosque. As per reports, three Karnataka Police personnel arrived at Ajit Bharti's residence in Noida on Thursday (June 20, 2024). They stood there for a while. After this, they gave a notice to Ajit Bharti. The Karnataka Police personnel were not accompanied by local police.
Ajit Bharti reportedly said that the Karnataka Police personnel had informed the local UP Police station but they reached his residence without taking them along. Ajit Bharti and his family noticed suspicious activity around their house and informed the local police station. After this, the local police reached there and took three Karnataka police personnel with them. These Karnataka police personnel have also handed over a notice to Ajit Bharti in the case registered against him recently. This notice has been issued from the High Ground Police Station of Bengaluru.
A user named Abhijeet wrote, "Hello @Uppolice @noidapolice @myogiadityanath looks like Karnataka Police are trying to carry out an ILLEGAL arrest of @ajeetbharti in Noida. This is in full violation of states rights and extraterritoriality. Request you to arrest the criminals immediately."
Responding to it. Ajit Bharti informed, "Noida Police swung into action as soon as I informed them. The work that could have been done by an e-mail, three cops were sent to do that. @noidapolice
sent as many as 5 officers and some constables to take them away. Thank you @Uppolice @myogiadityanath and Noida Police."
