In a shocking development, former DCW Chief & AAP Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal on Monday dialed 100 and summoned Delhi Police to Arvind Kejriwal's house accusing the Delhi Chief Minister's PA of assaulting her. Swati Maliwal's assault case became the biggest controversy as she was announced as Rajya Sabha MP by the AAP Supremo Kejriwal a few months back. As per reports, Swati Maliwal went to Arvind Kejriwal's residence to meet him after his release from the jail, however, his PA Baibhav Kumar stopped her from doing so. This started an argument and Swati Maliwal was allegedly manhandled and possibly assaulted at Arvind Kejriwal's house. Now the question arises who is Baibhav Kumar? Below is all about Arvind Kejriwal's PA Baibhav Kumar-
Who is Baibhav Kumar?
As per reports, in April 2024, Baibhav Kumar was sacked as Arvind Kejriwal's PA by the Delhi Vigilance Department. Delhi’s Directorate of Vigilance Department terminated Bibhav Kumar’s services, citing a case against him in which he was accused of obstructing government work. Following that Baibhav had approached CAT (Central Administrative Tribunal) challenging his termination. However, The Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) refused to stay the termination of Bibhav Kumar, Baibhav in his plea seeking relief, argued that his tenure could only be curtailed by Delhi CM Kejriwal and not the Special Secretary (Vigilance) according to the terms and conditions in his order of appointment. Without a stay on the termination, Baibhav Kumar will not be allowed to continue his services as the CM’s private secretary.
Swati Maliwal's assault case
Swati Maliwal was out of the country most of the time when Arvind Kejriwal was fighting a legal battle in the alleged Delhi liquor policy scam. Therefore, Swati Maliwal went to Arvind Kejriwal's house to meet him. However, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal's Personal Assistant Bibhav Kumar allegedly prevented her from doing so. Notably, multiple newswires stated that they tried to Swati Maliwal over the incident, however, she disconnected the call.
As a result, reports quoted an officer with the operations cell of the Delhi Police said that two calls were received regarding the alleged incident. “In the first call to 100 [emergency response number] made at around 9.40 am, the caller did not mention her name. But in the second call at around 9.54am...the caller told the police that her name is Swati Maliwal and Delhi Chief Minister’s aide Bibhav Kumar is manhandling her."
