A 34-year-old woman named Heather Wells is being sued by Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) after she failed to pay the fine that was imposed on her for pulling out an unruly behaviour in an American Airlines. Heather Wells is being sued by the FAA for a record fine of nearly $82,000. Notably, Heather Wells' behaviour became so unruly that she was duck taped and handcuffed to a plane seat after allegedly acting out on American Airlines flight 1774 in July 2021. Due to FAA's latest action, Heather Wells flight video is going viral on social media. In the viral Heather Wells American Airlines video, the 34-year-woman can be seen tied to her seat, and a duck tape is stuck on her mouth while other passengers deboard the flight. Now, the question arises who is Heather Wells? Below is all about Heather Wells-
Who is Heather Wells?
As per reports, Heather Wells, 34, fails from San Tiago. She was accused of trying to open an aircraft door mid-flight from Dallas to Charlotte, NC. Flight attendants, with help from a passenger, were able to restrain Wells with duct tape after she tried to kick, spit, and head-butt people. The incident happened after Heather Wells had a drink of Jack Daniels and started running down the aisle to open the front cabin door as she yelled profanities. The incident happened in 2021. The FAA fined Wells $81,950 in 2022 which she is yet to pay.
She was travelling in business class on American Airlines Flight 1774. Heather was slapped with a massive fine last year in 2022, that alleges she violated federal aviation rules by trying to access the flight cabin, interfering with the flight crew, threatening them, and posing as an imminent threat to the safety of the aircraft or individuals on the aircraft.
As per the legal documents, "After she was seated, Defendant continued to kick and spit and attempted to bite and head-butt a flight attendant and passengers. This necessitated Defendant to be further restrained to her seat by tape, along with her mouth, but even this was ineffective to stop her from screaming and cursing throughout the remainder of the flight."
To avoid the situation escalating, authorities asked other passengers to deboard the flight before taking her into custody and to a nearby hospital. Wells was not slapped with any criminal charges but she was slapped with heavy fine which she did not pay. This is the reason Wells has been sued by the FAA.
