Isha Ambani, a director of Reliance and the daughter of Mukesh Ambani, is slated to become chairperson of the firm's retail division. This news comes a day after her twin brother Akash Ambani was named chairman of Jio, the telecom division of the group.
The board of Reliance Jio appointed Akash Ambani on Tuesday; according to the statement, Mukesh Ambani resigned as the company's director on June 27.
The board also appointed Pankaj Mohan Pawar as managing director for five years, as well as Raminder Singh Gujrat and K V Chowdhary, as directors for a term of five years beginning on June 27.
