Karanjee Singh Gaba is the first-ever Afghan Sikh model to walk on the runway for a famous brand called Louis Vuitton. It was in the year 2022, that he was featured in the LV campaign donning a bright pink suit paired with a black turban. Karanjee Singh Gaba was part of LV’s campaign in spring that showcased late great Virgil Abloah’s Spring/Summer 2022 men’s collection, which serves homage to the culture of rave. As soon as he shared his pictures on the official Instagram handle, the comments section was flooded with people congratulating him. Along with this, various famous publications also interviewed him to know about his struggle and journey to reach this point of success.
Who is Karanjee Singh Gaba?
Karanjee Singh Gaba from his teens was passionate about sense of fashion and styling. He was very keen in learning photography and while teaching his friends about the same, Karanjee got his portfolio made. He then in his teen tried his hand at modelling and when to model for various brands. Karanjee Singh Gaba was in his later years approached by a stylist to model for Lurve Magazine and two weeks from that he walked in the Nicholas Daley show.
Talking about his school days, Karanjee Singh Gaba was constantly bullied by his mates on the type of personality he had which was really different from other. This made him quite hesitant to try out the field of modelling.
Karanjee Singh Gaba spoke in an interview that when he first got a call to model LV’s campaign, he was in a state of shock. He said, “I couldn’t believe it and didn’t know that I was the first-ever Sikh model to get this opportunity.” He then added that once his friend showed him a book by Tim Walker who is one of the greatest photographers in the world and two months later Karanjee himself was clicked by Tim Walker. He in end stated that modelling for LV just felt like a dream to him.
Since then he has modelled for various brands like Gucci, Zalando and many more.
