The moment Karan Johar announced Lakshya as the third lead of his upcoming film Dostana 2, netizens started asking the director-producer about the newcomer's connection with the film industry.
Many took to Twitter to write, "He is son or daughter of????," "kiska beta hai yr" and "Yeh kiska baccha hai."
But Karan was quick to shut down all the trolls. The director took to Twitter and wrote, "Yes I woke up to several inquiries asking about his film industry connections!!! He is NOT from the business and went through a legit audition process !! Am grateful to Shanoo Sharma for introducing LAKSHYA to @DharmaMovies."

Fans weren't able to identify Lakshya because Karan introduced him with his first name. But soon, many commented on Karan's tweet saying that Lakshya's full name is Lakshya Lalwani and he is a TV actor who has starred as a lead in the show, Porus, on Sony TV.
