The hunt to find an actor to play one of the most loved characters of TMKOC ‘Tapu’ has finally ended. The makers of the show have decided to rope in Nitish Bhaluni as the new Tapu for upcoming episodes of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.
For the unversed, the role was at the very start played by Bhavya Gandhi who later on decided to quit the show. Post his ending the association with TMKOC, Raj Anadkat was selected to play the role of Tipendra aka Tapu in the year 2017. Furthermore, Raj Anadkat also decided to quit the show after five years citing personal reasons. He shared the news of his exit through his Instagram handle in December. He wrote, “Hello everyone, it’s time to lay all questions and speculation to rest. My association with Neela Film Productions and ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ has officially ended. It has been a wonderful journey of learning, making friends, and having some of the best years of my career.”
After this, the hunt to find a suitable actor to play this role began and finally after 2 long months, the makers decided to cast Nitish Bhaluni for the role of ‘Tapu’ in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.

Nitish Bhaluni is one of the famous child TV actors aged between 18-22 years. He is a talented actor and was earlier seen in the famous show ‘Meri Doli Mere Angna.’ Although he has never bagged some really big shows his acting skills are on point. Entering TMKOC will be one of the biggest projects for Nitish Bhaluni that he has got till now.
Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah initially premiered in the year 2008 and has gained immense popularity since then. The show holds Guinness World Record for the longest-running Indian daily sitcom.
