Prashant Kishor, an election strategist-turned-politician, is all set to launch his own party named “Jan Suraaj” on October 2, 2024. He was selected for Forbes India's prestigious list of "20 people to watch in the 2020s." He has created several success stories for political parties in state and national elections.
Before knowing about Jahnavi Das, let's first know about PK (Prashant Kishor).
Prashant Kishor Pandey was born in 1977 in Konar village, Rohtas district. Kishor's family later moved to Buxar, Bihar. He completed his secondary education in Buxar before relocating to Hyderabad to study engineering.
Prashant Kishor worked for 8 years in UN-funded public health programs before entering Indian politics and working as a political strategist.
Kishor began his career as a political strategist, first gaining experience with the BJP. He later worked with several major parties, including JD (U), INC, AAP, YSRCP, DMK, and TMC. His first big campaign was in 2011, when he helped Narendra Modi, then Chief Minister of Gujarat, get re-elected in the 2012 Gujarat Assembly Elections. Kishor gained national attention after his team, Citizens for Accountable Governance (CAG), helped Modi's BJP secure a victory in the 2014 Lok Sabha election.
Well, let us know about Prashant Kishor’s wife, Jahnavi Das.
Who is Jahnavi Das?
Jahnavi Das was born in Guwahati, Assam. She is a doctor by profession. Prashank Kishor and Janhvi Das first met during a United Nations health mission. After this, Prashant Kishor and Jahnavi Das' friendship slowly turned into love. Later, they got married and started a family. They have a son, Jahnavi Das, who is currently living in Bihar with their son.
“I have been walking on foot, leaving our home and family, for two years. I am able to do this work only because a woman like her is my wife. She is a doctor and has left her doctorate to take on the responsibilities of our family. She had asked me to come to Bihar and do whatever I wanted to do, not worrying about the family. Today I have called my wife to introduce her to you," Prashant Kishor said while addressing the 'Jan Suraaj' program in Bihar's Patna on Sunday, August 25, 2024.
He added that men involved in the 'Jan Suraaj' campaigns are able to work because of the women. "Similarly, men who are part of the 'Jan Suraaj' campaign are able to work because women like you are standing with them. If you are taking our responsibilities, you ought to receive more than your rights. It is because of your constant support that we men are capable of doing something good," Kishor continued.
Prashant Kishor also mentioned that Jan Suraaj will field 40 women in the Bihar assembly polls next year.
