Punjabi actor, comedian, singer and film producer, Karamjit Anmol was given the AAP ticket for Lok Sabha elections in Faridkot in shock announcement by Aam Aadmi Party. Karamjit Anmol is a profilic actor with a close relationship with AAP Leader and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. According to reports, the actor was gearing up to contest the elections from Sangrur but was instead given the ticket from Faridkot.
Karamjit Singh Anmol had reported campaigned for Mann in the Dhuri seat, and has been his close friend since 1990, right from their school days. Anmol said that initially, he was a singer but after his downfall in the field, it was Mann who gave him the big break to act in a comedy show Jugnu Kehnda Hai. In an interview with The Wire after Mann's victory he had said, “Bhagwant is a jolly natured fellow, grounded and someone who enjoys the simple pleasures of life. That’s how he won people’s hearts.”
Who is Karamjit Anmol?
Karamit was born in Village Gandhuan, Punjab. Karamjit has worked in various prolific Punjabi comedies such Laavaan Phere and Carry on Jatta 2 alongside Gippy Grewal. He has also acted in the comedy plays "OMG !! Oh My God" and "Naughty Baba In Town" which were staged in Canada, America, New Zealand and Australia. He received the "PTC Best Comedian Of The Year" award in 2017 for Main Teri Tu Mera. Karamjit Anmol is nephew of great punjabi folk singer Kuldeep Manak. Manak sahab is his maternal uncle.
