'Kaushalya Ke Ram' on Monday was finally consecrated in the newly-built Ayodhya Ram Temple after Prime Minister Narendra Modi carried out the Pran Pratishtha rituals. Ram Lalla's old and new idol both were consecrated in the sanctum sanctorum of Ayodhya Temple and it marked a new beginning for millions of Hindus around the world. When Ram Lalla's idol was first unveiled in 'full singar' it went viral in no time around the world and devotees were mesmerized after watching 5-year-old Lord Ram in Ayodhya Temple. Ram Lalla's clothes, jewelry, tilak and even his crown raised many eyebrows. Talking about Ayodhya Ram Lalla's crown, a Gujarat-based businessman has reportedly donated a gold & diamond studded mukut to the Ayodhya Trust. Now, the question arises who is the Gujarat man and what is his link with Ram Lalla's crown? Below is everything you need to know-

 

Who is Mukesh Patel?

 

A Gujarat man named Mukesh Patel has donated 'mukut' (crown) for Ram Lalla's idol installed at the newly-constructed Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. Hailing from Surat, Mukesh Patel is a diamond trader and is the owner of  Green Lab Diamond Company in Surat. Ram Lalla's crown valued at Rs 11 crore, was specially crafted for the deity at the newly constructed Ram Mandir. Mukesh's donated crown for Ram Lalla weighs 6 kilograms. Ram Lalla's crown is adorned with gold, diamonds, and precious gemstones.

 

Not only this, reports suggest that Mukesh Patel along with his family personally visited Ayodhya to present the meticulously crafted crown to the temple trust officials. In the presence of Ram Mandir's chief priest and the trustees of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirth Kshetra Trust, Mukesh Patel handed over the crown during the Pran Pratishtha ceremony.

 

As per reports, Mukesh had sent his two people to Ayodhya initially to measure the Ram Lalla's idol. Following that after a thorough research, Ram Lalla's crown was crafted. Ram Lalla's crown consists of 4 kilograms of gold along with diamonds, rubies, pearls, and sapphires of various sizes.

 

Ayodhya Ram Lalla's idol explained

 

The idol depicts Lord Ram as a five-year-old child in a standing posture holding a golden bow and arrow. The 51-inch Ram Lalla idol, sculpted by Mysuru-based artist Arun Yogiraj, is made of black stone. As per reports, the idol made by Arun Yogiraj was selected unanimously by a panel as it depicted Ram Lalla most uniquely -as a five-year-old child. Ram Lalla's idol weighs around 150-200kg.  Reports further suggest that the rock from which the black stone has been chiselled out is a three billion-year-old rock.
