Pakistani social media users and YouTubers have been demanding justice after a woman named Natasha Danish mowed down two people to death while she was driving her SUV. A Pakistani woman named Natasha Danish on August 19, 2024, rammed her Toyota Land Cruiser into bikers and pedestrians on Karachi’s Karsaz Road, killing two people. As per reports, Natasha hit a motorcycle while attempting to turn her SUV. The vehicle then hit two more motorcycles before it overturned and collided with a parked car. While reports and people present at the spot stated that Natasha was intoxicated at the time of the accident, later her lawyer alleged that she was not mentally well. What is a major cause of outrage is Natasha Danish's viral video. In the viral video, Natasha Danish was seen smiling despite the fact she was stopped by people for crushing two people under her car. Not only this, but Natasha Danish's viral video showcased her saying, "Tum mere baap ko nahi jantay" (you don’t know who my father is).

As per Pakistani media reports, Natasha Danish has been identified as the wife of Danish Iqbal (CEO Gul Ahmed Energy). As per the company's official website, Gul Ahmed Energy Group is one of Pakistan’s leading power generation groups. "Established in 1994 by (Late) Mr. Iqbal Alimohamed, the Group initiated operations with a thermal power plant located in Korangi Industrial Area, Karachi. Since then, we have expanded our project portfolio to Wind, Solar & Power Solutions, with a power generation capacity of 236 Megawatts (MW) in total," says Gul Ahmed Energy. Danish Iqbal is currently the chairman of Gul Ahmed Energy.
There are claims that Natasha Danish who has been termed mentally ill by her lawyer is on the boards of multiple companies. However, a Pak media report refutes the claims saying that Natasha Iqbal who is the sister of Danish Iqbal (CEO/Chairman of Gul Ahmed Energy) is on the board and not Natasha Danish. Natasha Iqbal has nothing to do with the accident other than the fact that she is Natasha Danish’s, the one driving the SUV, sister-in-law. There are claims that Natasha is one of the relatives of a Pakistani judge. However, this claim cannot be verified.
Why Pakistani's are enraged over the Natasha Danish case?
On August 19, 2024, 66-year-old Imran Arif and his 22-year-old daughter Amna were killed in the accident while three others were wounded when Natasha Danish hit them while driving her SUV. Following that the locals nabbed Natasha Danish from escaping and later handed over to the Police. Thereafter, Natasha Danish was booked for manslaughter charges. However, on Tuesday, police failed to produce the suspect in court on the ground that Natasha was undergoing psychiatric treatment at the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) while in custody. The investigation officer (IO) had sought a 14-day police remand for the suspect, but the court handed the suspect into police custody for one day.
