Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday made his maiden visit to Jammu & Kashmir after the abrogation of article 370. PM Modi addressed hundreds and thousands of people in the valley and talked about the BJP government's multiple developments that have been carried out after the abrogation of Article 370. However, what caught everyone's attention when PM Modi took to his official X handle and shared a selfie with a Kashmiri man named Nazim and called him his friend. Now, the question arises who is Nazim? Below is everything you need to know-
Who is Nazim Nazir Dar?
Sharing his selfie with Nazim, PM Modi wrote, "A memorable selfie with my friend Nazim. I was impressed by the good work he’s doing. At the public meeting he requested a selfie and was happy to meet him. My best wishes for his future endeavours."
Now, talking about who is Nazim, he is a beneficiary of the Viksit Bharat program. Nazim interacted with the Prime Minister during PM Modi's Viksit Bharat Viksit Jammu Kashmir event. Hailing from Pulwama, Nazim was quoted by a newswire saying that he is an entrepreneur dealing with honey – that started in 2018 when he was in the 10th standard.
As per reports, Nazim informed PM Modi that he had two boxes of bees kept on the roof and everything started from there. As his interest in bee-keeping amped up, Nazim started researching about it online. "In 2019, I went to the government and got a 50% subsidy for 25 boxes of bees. I extracted 75kg of honey. I started selling the honey in villages and got Rs 60,000. From 25 boxes, it went to 200 and then I took the help of PMEGP (Prime Ministers Employment Generation Programme). Under that scheme, I received Rs 5 lakh and in 2020, I started my website,” Nazim was quoted as saying.
IN 2023, Nzim sold 5,000kg of honey. Now, at least 100 people work with him. Pulwama-based Nazim added that his company has also got FPO (Follow On Public Offers). Nazim's company name is Al Nahal Honey.
