In a shocking development, a journalist named Nikhil Wagle's car was attacked & vandalized allegedly by BJP workers for allegedly making derogatory remarks on PM Modi and LK Advani. As per reports, Nikhil Wagle allegedly made derogatory remarks against PM Modi after the Centre announced that Lal Krishna Advani would be conferred with Bharat Ratna. Nikhil Wagle's remarks against PM Modi sparked a massive row and fumed the BJP workers. Therefore, on Friday. Nikhil Wagle's car in Pune was not only attacked but also ink and eggs were thrown at him. Now, Nikhil Wagle's attack video is going viral on social media and the Maharashtra opposition has been supporting the journalist over the latest attack by the BJP workers on him. Who is Nikhil Wagle?

 

Going by his X bio, Nikhil Wagle is a journalist who has worked in media houses like IBN-Lokmat. He has been former Editor of Mahanagar as well. As per reports, Nikhil Wagle has been involved in politics as well. He started his journalism career in 1977 as a freelance reporter. Wagle started anchoring in 1989. After doing shows for Doordarshan, he turned a socio-political commentator and worked in Various private channels. He was also the anchor of the talk show Amne Samne.

 

Notably, an FIR has been filed against journalist Nikhil Wagle at Pune’s Vishrambaug police station on a local BJP leader, Sunil Deodhar's complaint. The senior journalist has been booked under sections 153A (promoting enmity between different groups), 500 (defamation) and 505 (statements conducing to public mischief) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), police said, stating they were probing the matter.

 

Coming to attack on Nikhil Wagle's car, the incident was followed by a brief altercation between opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) workers and the BJP activists before the police intervened. After the incident, Nikhil Wagle delivered his speech in which he was quoted saying, "I forgive all those who attacked me. I have been attacked six times earlier and this was the seventh...From Shivaji Maharaj to Shahuji Maharaj to Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar, everything is our tradition. We have a tradition of saints."
