Termed the 'right hand' of Amritpal Singh, 'Pardhan Mantri' Bhagwant Bajeke is also lodged in Dibrugarh jail and facing NSA charges. As per reports, Bajeke's son Akashdeep Singh announced that his father will fight bye-elections in Punjab by uploading a video on Instagram. It is said that Bhagwant Singh aka Pardhan Mantri Bajeke may now contest the Gidderbaha Assembly byepoll. For the unversed, Congress state president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring won the assembly elections from the Gidderbaha seat. After becoming an MP from the Ludhiana seat, the Gidderbaha assembly seat is vacant. Now, the question arises who is Pradhan Mantri Bajeke aka Bhagwant Singh?

Amritpal Singh's close aide Bhagwant Singh hails from Bajeke village of Moga district. Bajeke was arrested by the police on March 18, 2024. When the police were chasing Bajeke, he went live on Facebook. After this, he was handed over to the Amritsar police, from where Bajeke was taken to Assam.
As per reports, Bajeke's health deteriorated last week in Dibrugarh Jail. His family had demanded that Bhagwant Singh aka Pardhan Mantri Bajeke be kept in a Punjab jail. Bajeke's son Akashdeep had accused the Dibrugarh jail administration of giving the wrong food to his father. He had alleged that tobacco was being mixed in the food in the jail, due to which his father and others were falling ill. The family had argued that it costs Rs 35 to 40 thousand for a person to go to Assam. Bajeke's mother is a heart patient.
Before being involved with Amritpal Singh, Bhagwant Singh Bajeke used to make reels on Instagram and Facebook often. According to the police, he is also an influencer. He also runs a page named Pardhan Mantri Bajeke on Facebook.
In an interview given to a channel in the year 2020, Bhagwant Singh had revealed that he wanted to be popular on social media, so he named himself Pardhan Mantri.
As per reports, a total of 8 cases have been registered against Bhagwant Singh so far including attempt to murder, NDPS Act. In the year 2015, a case of attempt to murder was registered against him in a land-related case. In the year 2017, 400 grams of opium was allegedly recovered from him.
