For the unversed, Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa was arrested on Wednesday in connection with the murder of a man named Ramaswamy whose body was found in Bengaluru. The actor's co-star and girlfriend Pavithra Gowda has also been arrested as one of the key accused in the case. Who was Renukaswamy?
Renuka Swamy, 33, was a resident of Chitradurga. His body was found in a drain at the Sumanahalli Bridge in Bengaluru. A food delivery agent who noticed dogs gnawing at a body called the police. Talking about Renukaswamy's murder reason, it is alleged that he had posted offensive comments on Pavithra Gowda's social media account. Renukaswamy in his comments alleged that Pavithra caused a rift between Darshan and his wife. He allegedly used "objectionable language" and harassed her. Police are investigating the matter and believe that these factors played a crucial role in Renukaswamy's murder case.
"He was my only son. Last year he got married. I spoke to him on Saturday only. I want justice,"said Renukaswamy's father Srinivasaiah during his address to the media at Kamakshipalya police station. Apart from Darshan and Pavithra, a total of 12 people have been arrested in the case. Based on the statement given by various arrested people, Darshan and Pavithra were arrested by the Karnataka Police.
As per reports, actor Darshan's wife, Vijayalakshmi has reportedly unfollowed him on social media before deactivating her Instagram account, indicating possible strains within the family. In the ongoing legal proceedings, Pavithra Gowda has been identified as A1, while Darshan holds the designation of A2 in the murder case involving a victim named Renukaswamy.
