On 15th September, Indian Actress Saiyami Kher made a record by completing the toughest triathlon in the world called Ironman Race held in Germany. She has become the first Indian actress to finish the Ironman Triathlon. The triathlon included a 1.9 km swim, 90 km bike ride, and a 21.1 km run that should be completed back-to-back without any breaks.
In a recent interview, Saiyami shared about her triathlon experience and said “I was never chasing that. It just happened. I know Milind was the actor who completed it. But I am the first actress to do it. That’s because of our profession, with the timings... If you are working in an office, you know your timings are from like 9:00 to 6:00, following which you can train. But when you are an actor, there are days when you are working for 14 days. Some days there are night shifts, and some days are 14 hours long. So, it is very chaotic on the body when you're an actor. I'm really proud that I managed to do it with all my schedules.”
Who is Saiyami Kher?
Saiyami Kher is the daughter of Uttara Mhatre Kher, who was the former Miss India and Advait Kher, who was a renowned supermodel. She has completed her graduation from St. Xavier's College, Mumbai. She is the granddaughter of actress Usha Kiran and the niece of actress Tanvi Azmi as well. Her sister, Saunskruti Kher is a Marathi actress.
Saiyami Kher is an Indian actress who works in both Hindi and Telegu films. She made her debut in the industry with a Telegu movie titled Rey, released in 2015. She then made her debut in Hindi with Mirzya released in 2016. She has worked in movies like Mauli, Choked, Wild Dog and Ghoomer.
She hoped that her achievement will inspire and motivate others to take part in such competitions. She said, “I hope it inspires other actresses to take on this challenge and fulfil it. In fact, not only actresses, I hope this motivates people. Because in the end, it is not about being an actor... I hope more women do it because the percentage of women doing it is not so much.”
