Justice for Saltanat Nukenova on Monday concluded after Kazakhstan's former Economic Minister Kuandyk Bishimbayev was sentenced to 24 years of prison for beating his wife to death. Saltanat Nukenova was found dead in November 2023 in 'Kuandyk Bishimbayev's relative's restaurant where the couple spent a whole day and the previous night. The details of Saltanat Nukenova's murder revelation sent the entire Kazakhastan in shock and everyone started voicing their opinion on social media. The trend intensified after the last hearing in the country's Supreme Court, Saltanat Nukenova murder video was played there during the hearing. Who was Saltanat Nukenova?
Saltanat Nukenova, 31, was professionally an astrologer. Saltanat Nukenova's cause of death was brain trauma after the vicious attack by her husband. Saltanat Nukenova who was also known due to her glamorous look was hit by a 'blunt object' after a night out in a restaurant named BAU, owned by the couple, which was closed to other guests.
When Kuandyk Bishimbayev tried to object to life sentence in the court saying that he did not intend to kill her while the fight broke out, Saltanat Nukenova mother shouted and said, "I didn’t see my daughter, I didn’t bury her, I didn’t see her face..How did you beat her without particular cruelty?"
Notably, the Prosecutors told the court that Kuandyk Bishimbayev showcased his wife Saltanat Nukenova adult content asking if she was part of it. During the hearing, it was also revealed that Saltanat Nukenova tried to leave him multiple times, due to repeated beatings. When Saltanat Nukenova met the former Economic Minister at the restaurant to resolve all the problems, he beat her and she hid in a toilet.
Despite this, Kuandyk Bishimbayev broke the door of the toilet, dragged her out by her hair, and continued to beat her for several hours.

In 2018, Kuandyk Bishimbayev was jailed over corruption charges for 10 years, however, he was given a pardon in less than 2 years. Thereafter, Kuandyk Bishimbayev married Saltanat Nukenova after divorcing his second wife Nazym Bishembayeva.
The former Economic Minister met Saltanat Nukenova as he needed her 'astrological services'.
