Who is Sandeep Singh Sidhu, Sandeep Singh Sidhu Canadian Border Police: While India & Canada's diplomatic relationship hit rock bottom, New Delhi has struck back after it named a Canadian Border Service Agency (CBSA) official for promoting terrorism in Punjab. Canadian PM Justin Trudeau and RMCP have accused New Delhi of working with criminal Lawrence Bishnoi-gang and carrying out targetted assassination of Pro Khalistan elements on their soil. India's Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has slammed back outlining how Toronto is sitting on India's 26 extradition requests including Bishnoi-gang's associates. However, it seems like India has hit further after it named a CBSA official Sandeep Singh Sidhu in a terror case. Now, the question arises who is Sandeep Singh Sidhu and what are the accusations against him?
Who is Sandeep Singh Sidhu?
As per reports, India has included Sandeep Singh Sidhu's name in a list of fugitive terrorists that India wants to be deported from Canada. As per the information available, Sandeep Singh Sidhu is a member of the banned International Sikh Youth Federation (ISYF) and is employed with the CBSA. Sandeep Singh Sidhu has been included in the list for his alleged involvement in promoting terrorist activities in Punjab.
Sandeep Singh Sidhu's photo and criminal profile are also going viral on social media. Sandeep Singh Sidhu's criminal profile reads, "Sandeep Singh Sidhu aka Sunny has emerged as a significant entity involved in promoting terrorist activities in Punjab. He was in touch with Pakistan-based Lakhbir Singh Rode and other ISI operatives/ officials and successfully executed a targeted killing (Oct. 2020) of comrade Balwinder Singh Sandhu in Punjab with the help of a noted gangster Sukhneetpal Singh Sukh Bhikhariwal. The individual, an employee of Canada Border Service Agency (CBSA) and recently promoted to the rank of superintendent, is actively associated with Pro- khalistan terrorists including Lakhbir Singh Rode, USA-based Gurjot Kaur (highly radicalised pro-Khalistan operative who claims herself as a widow of pak-based KLF Chief Harmret Singh • Happy PHD, now deceased) and also with PAK-ISI officers."
It is pertinent to mention here that Balwinder Singh Sandhu was for his fight against Khalistani terrorists during Punjab’s decade-long militancy. Reports suggest that Sandhu became an icon of resistance in the separatist movement. Sandhu was awarded the Shaurya Chakra for his acts of bravery. He is also known for opposing Khalistan referendums in the US and Canada by Sikhs For Justice (SFJ).
As per Business Standard, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has said that the masterminds behind the killing of Sandhu were Canada-based Khalistani operatives Sunny Toronto and Pakistan-sheltered terrorist Lakhbir Singh alias Rode. However, it is not clear if Sunny Toronto is the alias of Sandeep Singh Sidhu.
