In a shocking development, an air hostess working for Air India Express was arrested for allegedly smuggling nearly 1kg of gold at Kannur Airport in Kerala. A Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) source was quoted saying that the air hostess was hiding gold in her rectum. Not only this, but the DRI also informed that the air hostess has been identified as Surabhi Khatun. Air hostess Surabhi Khatun was found concealing around 960 gm of gold in her rectum. As per reports, Surabhi Khatun was the cabin crew member of the Air India Express plane that landed in Kannur from Muscat on May 28. The gold was seized by the DRI officials at the Kannur Airport. Surabhi Khatun was later produced before the magistrate and remanded to 14 days in custody. Reports suggest that Surabhi Khatun had smuggled gold several times in the past.
