In a heart-breaking development, an Instagram influencer named Surbhi Jain on Thursday died after a long battle with cancer. Surbhi Jain was only 30 years old when she passed away due to Ovarian Cancer. Surbhi's family confirmed her death on her social media account saying that she died on Thursday and was cremated on April 19, 2024, in Ghaziabad. Now, the question arises who was Surbhi Jain?
Who was Surbhi Jain?
As mentioned by her family, Surbhi Jain originally hailed from Ghaziabad. Surbhi was quite frequent on Instagram until she was diagnosed with cancer. Following that Surbhi was undergoing treatment for ovarian cancer. Surbhi used to share her posts related to fashion. Eight weeks ago, Surbhi shared her last post and photo from the hospital. In her post, Surbhi wrote-
"I know I haven’t updated you all about my health which feels wrong seeing the number of msgs I am getting about it everyday. But Things haven’t been keeping too well. So there isn’t much to share. Past 2 months I have spent mostly in the hospital. There has been some complication because of which my food has also been stopped since past 1 month and I have a tube attached through my nose. So I am on continous IV. Treatment is going on, It’s difficult and I just want all this to end."
It is pertinent to mention here that this was the second time Surbhi Jain had been diagnosed with cancer. At the age of 27, she underwent major surgery after her first diagnosis.
As per reports, Ovarian cancer is the growth of cells that forms in the ovaries. The cells multiply quickly and can invade and destroy healthy body tissue. It's not clear what causes ovarian cancer, though doctors have identified things that can increase the risk of the disease. Doctors know that ovarian cancer begins when cells in or near the ovaries develop changes (mutations) in their DNA.
It is a significant health concern for women. The disease is characterised by a malignant, growing tumour in the ovaries which destroys healthy tissues. It ranks as the third most common cancer in women in India, after breast and cervical cancer, causing more fatalities than any other gynaecological cancer.
