Japan's fashion & modeling industry has been jolted with a massive controversy after Karolina Shiino gave up her Miss Japan 2024 Crown after a series of accusations. While Japanese people slammed the pageant show for crowning Karolina Shiino as Miss Japan 2024 saying that she does not represent traditional Japanese beauty ideals, an expose of her affair was like a final nail in the coffin. To be precise, Karolina Shiino renounced her Miss Japan 2024 crown which she won last month after a local magazine published a report saying that she dated a married man. The married was identified as Takuma Maeda. The magazine stated that Karolina dated Takuma Maeda knowing that he was married but she reportedly refused saying that she knew about Takuma Maeda's matrimonial status. Who is Takuma Maeda?
As mentioned above, Takuma Maeda is a plastic surgeon by profession and he is reportedly 41. Interestingly, Takuma Maeda is 41 and he dated Miss Japan 2024 Karolina Shiino who is 26 years old. Notably, apart from being a doctor, Takuma is quite active in the world of fitness and bodybuilding.
Interestingly, when the magazine leaked Karolina Shiino's affair report, Miss Japan 2024 stated that she never knew about Takuma Maeda's matrimonial status. However, Takuma Maeda didn't stand behind her, and announced in a handwritten letter that he had no intention of getting a divorce. He apologized to everyone involved for the inconvenience and misunderstandings and announced that he would devote himself to his work and private life in the future - presumably without the ex-Miss Japan.
As a result, Karolina backtracked her statement and issued an apology on her Instagram handle. Furthermore, in her apology, she announced that she is giving up her Miss Japan 2024 title.
Karolina Shiino, 26, was born in Ukraine, however, she was raised in Japan. Shiino was crowned 2024 Miss Japan on January 22 and was the first woman of European descent to earn the title of Miss Nippon. Karolina Shiino moved to Japan when she was 5 years old along with her mother. Over the years, Karolina Shiino became fluent in Japanese, and in 2022, she became a naturalized Japanese citizen.
