An old woman was seen yelling at a Yoga Fitness Influencer, Tanya Bhattacharjee, for wearing shorts in the public place in Bangalore. This video has gone viral on the internet and has also sparked debate among the users.
Tanya Bhattacharjee had posted the video on 9th September on her Instagram page, claiming that an old woman has shamed and harassed her for wearing shorts in the public place in Bangalore.
She posted the video with a question. She asked, “What do you think is the problem? I don’t know what’s happening. In the video, an elderly woman is seen screaming in her native language. The reel also includes some written text. The texts read, “Shorts not allowed in Bangalore”, “Woman against woman” and “Society a dictating Institution to Women.”

The video shared by Tanya, has gained 1.7 million views and has gone viral on the internet. The video has currently 17.4 K likes and 2,653 comments on it. One of the users commented that she should have ignored the elderly woman. In response, the influencer commented, “I totally agree about ignoring her and we did ignore her and started walking towards the car parking. Then she started to follow us, started shouting in public, stopped other vehicles to show me in my shorts (legs) to other men. FYI -I was not creating any content there was on my way back to the car and she kept doing this just because I wore shorts?”
One of the users commented, “Shorts have nothing to do with society. It's your mentality. Btw, why is aunty wearing a saree with a crop top showing her stomach”. Another wrote, “Bengaluru is going backwards.”
