Who is Vasundhara Oswal?
Vasundhara Oswal, 26, is the daughter of Pankaj Oswal, a renowned Swiss industrialist of Indian origin billionaire. As per her billionaire father, Vasundhara Oswal has been illegally imprisoned in Uganda. In an open letter to the Ugandan President, Vasundhara Oswal's father also claimed that his daughter is being denied basic rights and access to family or legal representation.

Pankaj Oswal claims the charges against his daughter stem from a former employee taking a loan of $200,000 from the family. His family, acting as guarantors for the loan, refused to repay it and instead filed false allegations against Vasundhara Oswal in an attempt to escape their financial obligations. This individual escaped from Uganda and was later apprehended in Tanzania with evidence of the theft. Despite this, Vasundhara Oswal has been unjustly accused, and the legal process has been manipulated against her.
Pankaj Oswal moves to UN against Uganda
As per reports, Pankaj Oswal has filed an urgent appeal with the United Nations Working Group on Arbitrary Detention, stating that his 26-year-old daughter was interrogated under degrading conditions and held for over 90 hours without access to legal counsel or family. Despite a court order for her unconditional release, the police have reportedly slapped inadmissible charges to prevent her release on bail.
On Vasundhara Oswal's Instagram account, there are multiple pictures and a voice has been shared. The family on Vasundhara Oswal's Instagram handle wrote, "Facts about Vasundhara’s unlawful detainment and arrest :
1- The best toilet that she can get access to. With blood and faeces on the floor .
2- The way she was forced to sit , detained amongst shoes for over 90+ hours . During the night still she was forced to sit this way .
She wasn’t allowed to bathe or change her clothes for those 90 hours.
3-Not letting her be in touch with her family and lawyers and also snatching her phone from her, causing her to have an anxiety attack, which they did not acknowledge. This all while she is still being unlawfully detained with no evidence against her .
