In a big action against IAS Coaching Centers operating in basements in Delhi's Old Rajinder Nagar, Delhi's MCD Commissioner sealed at least 20 coaching centers including the famous Drishti IAS. Drishti IAS's face is a teacher & influencer Vikas Divyakirti. To be precise, the coaching's basement in Mukherjee Nagar was sealed by authorities. Action against Drishti IAS came in the backdrop of the deaths of three IAS aspirants in a library functioning basement of Rau's IAS Study Circle. The three deceased were identified as Shreya Yadav from Uttar Pradesh, Tanya Soni from Telangana, and Nevin Dalvin from Kerala. On Monday night, hundreds of students staged a protest outside Drishti IAS and sought justice from the government. Who is Vikas Divyakirti?
Vikas Divyakirti is an educator & also a well-known personality on social media. Vikas Divyakirti's videos often go viral over his life lessons. Vikas Divyakirti is the founder and managing director of Drishti IAS, an organization active in civil services preparation since 1999. According to Drishti's website, Vikas Divyakirti began his professional career as an assistant professor at Delhi University. In 1996, he cleared the Civil Services Examination in his first attempt. He worked for a year at the Ministry of Home Affairs. However, he resigned from his post, returned to teaching, and established Drishti IAS.
Notably, Dr Vikas Divyakirti also acted in the Vidhu Vinod Chopra's hit movie 12th Fail. Dr Vikas Divyakirti in an old interview for a Hindi portal revealed, "Me and Manoj (IPS Manoj Kumar Sharma) are very good friends. We talk once a week regularly. Then Manoj called me and said that he had called me for work. He told me that Vidhu Vinod Chopra will talk to you in the evening. I was surprised and shocked. I told him he is an ideal director. 3 Idiots and Munna Bhai movies are my favorite. A call was arranged at 7 pm since I had to take an online class at 8 pm."

After the tragedy, MCD has sealed 13 coaching centres in Old Rajinder Nagar area as part of a crackdown on illegal and dangerous use of basements. These include IAS Gurukul, Chahal Academy, Plutus Academy, Sai Trading, IAS Setu, Topper's Academy, Dainik Samvad, Civils Daily IAS, Career Power, 99 Notes, Vidya Guru, Guidance IAS, and Easy for IAS.
