In a blood-boiling incident, a lawyer named Ankur Verma on Saturday was arrested by Roopnagar Police for repeatedly assaulting his 73-year-old mother. The shocking incident took place at the residence of the accused in the Kirti Vihar area of the city of Ropar, Punjab. Ankur Verma was produced in court and sent to a one-day police remand. Rupnagar station house officer (SHO) Pawan Kumar was quoted saying that the daughter of the victim, Deepshikha, had filed a complaint along with the CCTV footage of the assault.
Notably, Ropar Lawyer's CCTV has gone viral on social media and netizens are in utter shock over the incident. In fact, many are demanding that the 'evil' lawyer not get bail after seeing the horrific Roopnagar Lawyer elderly woman CCTV footage. In the viral Ropar lawyer video, Ankur Verma's juvenile son can be seen deliberately spreading water on the 73-year-old elderly woman's bed. After doing it, the minor son switches on the light and starts shouting accusing the elderly woman of peeing on the bed. As a result, Ankur Verma and his wife enter the scene and start shouting at the ailing elderly woman. What was pure evil when Ankur Verma started to assault his elderly mother. Not once, but Ankur was seen assaulting his 73-year-old mother repeatedly including pulling her hair.
As per the Police, Ankur Verma was arrested and they have also booked the daughter-in-law (Ankur Verma’s wife) and grandson of the victim. The accused have been booked under sections 323, 342,327, 344, and 355 of the Indian Penal Code. The police have also slapped section 6 of the Maintenance And Welfare Of Parents And Senior Citizens Act, 2007.
Now, the question arises as to why Ankur Verma and his family tortured the 73-year-old lady. Going by the FIR, the victim’s daughter said that her mother informed her about the assault. The complainant took the CCTV footage of the victim’s room and gave it to the police. The complainant said that the accused was torturing her mother for her monthly pension. Daughter Deepshika somehow managed to get the password of CCTV and was shocked to see what was happening with her mother in the video.
