Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut on Thursday broke her silence after she was assaulted at Chandigarh Airport by a constable rank CISF officer. Mandi MP-Elect Kangana Ranaut was going to Delhi to meet the BJP's top leadership after winning the Lok Sabha Elections 2024. However, when Kangana Ranaut went to board the flight to Delhi from Chandigarh Airport, she was allegedly slapped by a constable rank CISF officer named Kulwinder Kaur. Now, Kangana Ranaut has finally broken her silence on the slap-gate and revealed the reason why she was assaulted by the officer at Chandigarh Airport.
Kangana posted a video in her Instagram story in which she said, "I am perfectly fine and safe. The incident happened during a security check at Chandigarh Airport. As soon as I entered the second cabin of the security check, a woman CISF officer was present. She waited for me to cross her and then suddenly she slapped me on my face. She also started abusing me. When I asked why she did it, she answered that she supports farmers' protests. I am safe but concerned about how we handle the rise of terrorism and extremism in Punjab."
In the meantime, a newswire stated that an inquiry committee comprising senior CISF officers has been set up to conduct a further investigation into the matter.
On June 4, Kangana Ranaut defeated her closest rival Vikramaditya Singh of Congress by a margin of over 74,000 votes to win Mandi. After her victory, the actress also shared an Instagram post thanking the people from her constituency. “Heartfelt gratitude to all the people of Mandi for this love and trust… This victory belongs to all of you, this is the victory of your trust in Prime Minister Modi and BJP, this is the victory of Sanatan and in the honour of Mandi,” she wrote.
