Former political strategist & Jan Suraaj leader Prashant Kishor recently decoded PM Modi's election personality and highlighted why he raked up controversies like the Mangalsutra debate and wealth distribution. For those who are unaware, Prime Minister Modi during a rally in Banswara alleged that if the Congress came to power, it would redistribute the wealth of the people to Muslims and cited former prime minister Manmohan Singh's statement that the minority community had the first claim on the country's resources. Modi also alleged that Congress plans to give the people's hard-earned money and valuables, including mangalsutra, to the "infiltrators" and "those who have more children". This had sparked a massive outrage on social media and the opposition leaders had slammed Narendra Modi saying that how can a country's PM can use such language? Now, Prashant Kishor in an interview with Barkha Dutt's YouTube channel explained why PM Modi did it. Below is what Kishor said-
"Even BJP's die-hard supporters did not like PM Modi's Mangalsutra remarks. Now, the question arises why did he say that? For example, if we travel on a flight we get frightened by minor turbulence. But, if you travel on the Bus, if it shakes, you remain calm. If you are travelling on a Bullock cart, you sleep peacefully on that despite the disturbances. What I mean to say is that when you are at the top then even a minor disturbance can frighten you. When the Lok Sabha Elections started and Modi ji entered the poll battle by weaving an atmosphere then facts came that on ground situation is not that favourable as expected whether you call it being anxious or...you can call it a knee-jerk reaction."
"Why I say so is because Modiji was saying that he was educating the voters. Modi ji in his interviews said that he was just educating the voters, it was the Congress who brought these issues. But, no one is asking him why he stopped educating voters that he started in phase 1. He stopped it because he saw the situation stabilizing. Therefore, now, he is not taking the risk of keeping his image on the line to win the Lok Sabha Elections 2024."
"One thing is clear, BJP & NDA are winning the Lok Sabha Elections 2024. But, the image of Modi ji has indeed suffered a downfall. But, the downfall did not come all of a sudden. PM Modi's image is declining for the past many years and slowly anti-incumbency is setting up. But, he is winning this election because the opposition did not surround him over certain issues," added Prashant Kishor.
