Minor son of Vishal Agarwal, a Pune-based builder, has been facing the ire of people on social media ever since he was granted bail in the Kalyani Nagar accident case. On Sunday, Vishal Agarwal's son was thrashed by locals after a speeding Porsche car rammed multiple vehicles at 3 am in Kalyani Nagar killing two people including a woman on the spot. Thereafter, the accused was arrested by the Police. However, the Juvenile Justice Board granted him bail in just 15 hours on simple terms and conditions that forced people to think that influence had been used somewhere. For instance, the minor accused was asked to write a 300-word essay on road accidents among multiple terms and conditions. After the outrage, Pune Police arrested accused's absconding father Vishal Agarwal. Therefore, the Pune Police Commissioner addressed the press conference saying that they have moved an application to the district court seeking permission to try the accused as an adult as a gruesome crime has been committed.
Now, minor's advocate Prashant Patil during an interview with a media channel explained why his client should not be tried as an adult. Below is what Adv Prashant Patil said-

Why Vishal Agarwal's son should not be tried as an adult? Builder's son advocate answers
Prashant Patil in the interview said, "We are at the initial stage of the investigation in this matter. We have to have faith in the investigation. Whatever has happened till now in this case we have all followed the due process of law. Be it investigative agencies or the accused side. The investigative agency has rightly taken stringent action since the inception of the matter. They arrested the accused, they produced him before the court, and there were legal arguments from both sides. After hearing the legal arguments and going by previous judgments of the Bombay High Court and Supreme Court, the judicial officer came to a particular conclusion. That conclusion cannot be debated like this in the public domain.
An application was moved for bail by the accused because he is entitled to it. The rule of law is equal to everyone. Just because the accused belongs to a particular strata of the society does not mean he is entitled to not move his bail application."
On being asked whether some kind of influence was used to secure speedy bail for Vishal Agarwal's son, Patil said, "Influence? influence on whom? the court is acting according to the due process of the law. The investigative agency will move an application to try the accused as an adult because they are entitled to do so. After that, a notice will be served upon us. We will argue on the merits of the law."
What's next for Vishal Agarwal's son ?
On being asked whether accused's bail condition was routine, Patil answered, " Yes, but we cannot comment on that. All due procedures are being followed. We cannot conduct a media trial accusing persons A or B. We have to wait for the chargesheet to be filed."
