Actor Boman Irani who will be co-hosting Amazon Prime Video's upcoming comedy reality show 'LOL- hasse toh phasse' with Arshad Warsi shared his views on how the change in streaming technology has affected screenwriting.
In an interview with I.A.N.S Irani said, " The OTT platform gives an opportunity not only for writers but also actors and technicians. However, on OTT there are thousands of choices. It takes 10 to 15 min. to reject if you cannot engage the audience in their home. This can be avoided with good writing which also applies to the rest of the show. Writing has become the superstar on OTT platform".
According to Boman if the script is weak then the acting will also come out dull while talking about both OTT and theatrical releases. Well, the pandemic has pushed Bollywood from theaters to mobile screens. There has been a great loss to the film industry with the postponement of movie schedules and banned restricted theatre releases. Amid all this the actor Boman Irani still sees hope.

"The pandemic has created a lot of problems. I am hopeful and saying this in a positive tone that once things open up, people will be dying to get back to the theatres and there will be a big surge of footfalls in theatres again", Irani added.
When asked about the possibility of OTT platforms replacing the big screen he said, "I think the big screen is a completely different experience, there will be movies made for the big screen. I don't think it can be replaced, because it is a family experience which people look forward to especially in India. A huge screen and great sound cannot be permanently erased by something which is screened on your phone".
