Covid-19 cases in India reach 1,07,66,245 after a single day, lowest spike in eight month of 8,635, according to data release by Union Health Ministry this morning.
The number of cases recorded on September 10 last year were 95, 735 while the present tally is the lowest record in eight months.
The total number of fatalities rose to 1,54,486 after recording 94 more deaths.
The number of people recovered from Covid-19 are 1,04,48,406 while 1,63,352 are active cases as on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the government of India had started vaccination drive on January 16. DCGI had given approval to two vaccines: Covishield and Covaxin.
