A 23 year of woman was stabbed multiple times by her former classmate outside her Sec 14 Gurugram home. The woman has said to have suffered injuries on her ear, neck, chest, and stomach in the attack and was rushed to a private hospital in the city. She was reportedly later referred to the Safdarjung hospital in New Delhi.
The incident took place at around 9:30pm on Tuesday. The victim reportedly returned home (with her husband) from her parent’s house in Delhi. The accused that was identified as Vivek Kondal reportedly visited the woman's Gurugram house and asked her in-laws to call the woman saying that he wanted to speak to her on an urgent basis. After the woman came out, Kondal stabbed her 30 times using a pocket knife.
Her father in-law quickly rushed to her rescue and in the process suffered injuries himself.

The accused was nabbed by the victim's neighbours who later handed him over to the authorities.
The accused is said to have been the woman's former classmate and made several advances in the past. The woman has said to have rejected his advances and ridiculed him on several occasions. She later married her husband in February.
Frustrated and seeking revenge, Kondal decided to take such a step.
The doctors have reportedly performed multiple surgeries and the woman is now said to be in critical condition.
