Punjab is known to be the land of IPSs and DGPs, as the state has given many high-ranked officers. Now, as Women’s Day is around the corner, let's celebrate the honored women IPS officers of Punjab who have worked diligently and honestly to serve the state and its people. 

It is to be noted that currently, as many as 21 women IPS officers serve for Punjab; and here is the complete list of the renowned officers -

Gurpreet Kaur Deo - Gurpreet Kaur Deo serves as an IPS officer and is well-known for her contributions for the residents of Punjab. She is one of the two first women IPS officers of Punjab who has also been ranked as Director General of Police (DGP) and worked as Special DGP Community Affairs Division & Women Affairs, Punjab, SAS Nagar. Notably, Ms. Deo has also headed the Special Task Force (STF). It is also noteworthy that she is the first woman to be ranked as IG of Jalandhar. 
She is a 1993 batch IPS officer of the Punjab cadre. 

Shashi Prabha Dwivedi - Shashi Prabha Dwivedi is also one of the first women IPS officers to attain the rank of Director General of Police in Punjab. She became the DGP in the year 2023. She works at Special DGP Railways, Punjab, Chandigarh.
She is also a 1993 batch IPS officer of the Punjab cadre. 

Neeraja Voruvuru - Neeraja Voruvuru has been appointed as ADGP Cyber Crime, Punjab, SAS Nagar.
She is a 1994 batch IPS officer of the Punjab cadre. 

Anita Punj - Anita Punj serves as ADGP-cum-Director, MRS PPA, Phillaur.
She is also a 1994 batch IPS officer of the Punjab cadre. 

Vibhu Raj - Vibhu Raj is ranked as ADGP, Investigation, Lokpal, Punjab, Chandigarh.
She is a 1996 batch IPS officer of the Punjab cadre.

Dhanpreet Kaur - Dhanpreet Kaur is serving the people as Commissioner of Police of Jalandhar. It is to be noted that she is the first woman to attain this rank all over Punjab. Across the state, Police Commissioners are ranked in three cities, i.e., Jalandhar, Ludhiana, and Amritsar.
She is a 2006 batch IPS officer. 

Jagadale Nilambari Vijay - Jagadale Nilambari Vijay serves as Deputy Inspector-General of Police (DIG) at the Ludhiana Range.
She is a 2008 batch IPS officer. 

Alka Meena - Alka Meena is ranked as DIG Administration, Punjab, Chandigarh.
She is a 2010 batch IPS officer. 

Amneet Kondal - Amneet Kondal is the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Bathinda.
She is a 2012 batch IPS officer. 

Kanwardeep Kaur - Kanwardeep Kaur serves as Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Chandigarh. She is the second woman officer to be ranked as UT SSP.
She is a 2013 batch IPS officer. 

Saumya Mishra - Saumya Mishra serves as Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Personnel-2, Punjab.
She is a 2014 batch IPS officer. 

Ravjot Grewal - Ravjot Grewal has been ranked as Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in the Technical and Support Services (TSS) cadre of the Punjab Police.
She is a 2015 batch IPS officer. 

Simrat Kaur - Simrat Kaur serves as Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) and Chief of Intelligence (CI) for Patiala.
She is a 2016-batch IPS officer. 

Ashwini Gotyal - Ashwini Gotyal serves as AIG (Additional Inspector General) of Human Resources Development (HRD) in Punjab. It is to be noted that she is also ranked as SSP of Khanna.
She is also a 2016-batch IPS officer. 

Vatsala Gupta - Vatsala Gupta serves as Commandant of the 27th Battalion (Commandant 27th BN). Earlier, she was ranked as SSP of Kapurthala.
She is also a 2016-batch IPS officer. 

Dr Pragya Jain - Dr Pragya Jain has been ranked as SSP Faridkot. 
She is a 2017 batch IPS officer. 

Jyoti Yadav - Jyoti Yadav served as SSP Khanna. She is the wife of Cabinet Minister of School Education of the Punjab Government - Harjot Singh Bains. IPS Jyoti is known to be “Lady Singham” of Punjab as, during a search operation, she made headlines for having a heated argument with Aam Aadmi Party MLA Rajinder Pal Kaur Chhina, who was seated from Ludhiana South. She started preparing for UPSC exam and got success in 2019, following which she was posted as an IPS officer.
She is a 2019 batch IPS officer. 

Darpan Ahluwalia - Darpan Ahluwali is Staff Officer to DGP.
She is a 2020 batch IPS officer. 

Jasroop Kaur Batth - Jasroop Batth serves as SP Investigation, Jalandhar Rural.
She is also a 2020 batch IPS officer. 

Akarshi Jain - Akarshi Jain serves as Assistant Commissioner of Police of Ludhiana Central.
She is a 2020 batch IPS officer of the Karnataka cadre, who was later transferred to the Punjab cadre.
