World Food Day is celebrated on 16th October every year all around the world . This day is an initiative by Food and Agricultural Organisation (FAO) of United Nations and is being celebrated since 1979.This year marks the 75th Anniversary of this day. This day aims at tackling global hunger and striving to eradicate hunger across the world.
The theme of World Food Day-2021 is "Celebrating Food Heroes". It focuses on individuals who have been building a sustainable world where no one has to stay hungry. The idea is that we all can be food heroes and contribute to the idea of building a hunger-free world. FAO has also highlighted the work of food heroes across the world who are working towards the same aspect.
The theme for World Food Day- 2020 was "Grow, nourish, sustain. Together. Our actions are our future". This theme aimed at the millions of people suffering due to the pandemic.

Starvation is a big problem in a host of countries, particularly in the underdeveloped parts of the world and awareness is required to effectively address this issue. It seems unfair that we live in a global society where one section of the population can enjoy any kind of delicacy it wishes, while a large chunk of the population had to struggle to arrange two meals a day.
