World Students’ Day is celebrated on October 15, annually, which is the birth anniversary of “Missile Man”. The day is commemorated to honour APJ Kalam’s contribution in the field of education. Dr Kalam was an excellent teacher, scientist and statesman.
In 2010, the United Nations declared the day as “World’s Students Day” to appreciate APJ Kalam’s work and contribution towards our society. This year, the nation would mark his 90th anniversary and 11th students’ day.
The theme for this year is – “Learning for people, planet, prosperity and peace”, which aims to reaffirm the role of education as a fundamental right of every person across the world.

Today, on his birth anniversary the world remembered him and tributes were poured on him. President Ram Nath Kovind paid floral tribute at the Northern Command, J & K, “President Kovind paid floral tributes to Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, former President of India, on his birth anniversary at the Northern Command, Udhampur, Jammu & Kashmir,” tweeted President.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also remembered the former president and tweeted, “Tributes to former President of the country, known as Missile Man, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam ji on his birth anniversary. He dedicated his life in making India strong, prosperous and capable. He will always remain a source of inspiration for the countrymen.”
Union Minister Piyush Goyal, in a tweet, said, “I join every Indian in offering my humble tributes to our former President, Bharat Ratna & Missile Man of India, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam on his birth anniversary.”

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh tweeted, “Remembering the former President of India, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam on his birth anniversary. He had a fiery dream of building a self-reliant and strong nation. He dedicated his entire life to serve his motherland. His contributions will never be forgotten.”
