Covid-19 has badly affected international travelling but now as the vaccination drive has ramped up, many countries have re-opened the international borders and are welcoming the “fully-vaccinated” tourists. The authorities have urged the tourists to follow all Covid-related protocols to decrease the risk of infection.

Today, on the occasion of ‘World Tourism Day 2021,’ we have brought a list of the countries which are welcoming tourists from India.

Check the list here –

CANADA:-

From last week, Canada has re-opened the direct route for Indians and relaxed three-country RT-PCR report requirements. The flights were cancelled a month ago after some of the RT-PCR reports returned positive.

USA:-

Jeff Zients, the White House pandemic coordinator, said that tourists would be allowed in the country if they show full vaccination proof and a negative RT-PCR Covid-19 report within three days of arrival in America.

THAILAND:-

Recently, the Thailand Embassy in New Delhi announced that the country would issue some special types of visas to non-Thai people. These visas include visas for students, those with a work permit, those with a residency permit, for now, the country is not issuing tourist visas and medical visas.

KENYA:-

Kenya Tourist Board (KTB) has invited Indian tourists with tourist visas to the country. Kenya closed its international border in May 2021, due to the second wave of Covid-19. KTB said in a statement that the travellers from India are exempted from quarantine given that they own negative PCR-based Covid-19 test results conducted 96 hours before travel.

UAE:-

From September 12, United Arab Emirates (UAE) has re-opened the border for fully vaccinated tourists. It has allowed flyers from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Namibia, Zambia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda, Sierra Leone, Liberia, South Africa, Nigeria and Afghanistan.

RUSSIA:-

Russia is inviting the international flyers but the process is tedious. The tourist visa would be only eligible for 30 days for single entry or double entry. There’s a requirement to produce an RT-PCR test done within 72 hours prior to arrival but if you tested positive then you would be shifted to the Covid Treatment Facility.

UNITED KINGDOM:-

The country has issued the ‘amber’ list, which would come into the effect from October 4. For now, Indians who have got Covishield jab are allowed to enter the UK with quarantine.

OTHER COUNTRIES:-

Turkey, Serbia, Iceland, Egypt, Mauritius, Sri Lanka, Germany, and Spain are the other countries that have opened the international borders for the flyers from India. All travellers must follow the Covid-19 protocols and must be fully vaccinated.

The World Health Organisation has shared the precautionary measures for the travellers. The official site informs, “Travelling may place you in areas that are closed, confined, or crowded (the three Cs), which puts you at a higher risk of being exposed to the virus that causes COVID-19. Whenever possible, stay in open, well-ventilated settings. While travelling, practice prevention measures even if you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.”
