The veteran actor, who lived all over the world for nearly 40 years, used to call Lucknow his forever home. He believed his ties to Lucknow were so strong that they could never be severed.

In an emotional Instagram post, Hansal Mehta, who is married to Yusuf Hussain's daughter Safeena, expressed his grief for his father-in-law. When he was "troubled" and
his "non-existent career as a filmmaker was finished completely," he tweeted a photo of Yusuf Hussain and wrote about how the late actor helped him finish his 2012 film Shahid, starring Rajkummar Rao, when he was
"troubled." Hansal Mehta shared that Yusuf Hussain was like a father to him.
Yusuf had played significant roles in many films like Crazy Cukkad Family, Road To Sangam, Dhoom 2 and Raees.
