New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday expressed pain at the bus accident near Agra in Uttar Pradesh that claimed at least 29 lives.
"Pained by the bus accident in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. Condolences to the families who have lost their loved ones. I pray that those injured recover fast," Prime Minister tweeted.
He further said the Uttar Pradesh government and local administration "are providing all possible assistance to the affected".
At least 29 people were killed and several others injured when a double-decker bus fell into Jharna Nullah (canal) on Yamuna Expressway early Monday morning.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Bablu Kumar said that the ill-fated bus was going to Delhi from Lucknow when it fell into the Jharna nullah under the Ethamadullah police station area.
Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has constituted a three-member high-level team to probe into the factors that led to the mishap.
