In heart-wrenching news today, a 5-year-old girl named Kamini reportedly died of a heart attack while watching cartoons on her mobile phone in the Hathaikheda village of Hasanpur Kotwali in UP’s Amroha district on Sunday.
According to reports she was lying next to her mother on the bed watching cartoons when she suddenly collapsed and was subsequently rushed to the nearby hospital. There she was announced ‘brought dead’ by the doctors. Hasanpur community health centre in-charge Dr. Dhruvendra Kumar said that the girl may have died of a heart attack.
Amroha CMO Dr. Satyapal Singh further informs that the girl’s family was requested for the deceased body for postmortem, but they declined. Whether she died due to heart attack or some other disease will be further revealed upon investigation.
There have been a slew of similar incidents in the region. Prince Kumar, 16, recently fainted while playing cricket in Hasanpur area of Amroha on Dec 31. He was rushed to the hospital where he was declared dead. Surprisingly, his father claimed that his son was ‘’physically fit”.
Experts say that heart attacks might be more common due to the cold. Oxygen levels and blood pressure usually drops, increasing the risk of blood clots. It is advised to protect oneself from cold.
