Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has tested positive for Covid-19 and has informed that he has been in isolation since Tuesday after some officials of his office tested positive for infection.
UP's Additional Chief Secretary SP Goyal, OSD Abhishek Kaushik, Special Secretary Amit Singh, and few other officials had tested positive for Coronavirus.
In a tweet, the Chief Minister said that given the mild symptoms of Covid, he had got himself tested and on Wednesday afternoon, he tweeted that the report showed he was positive for Covid-19.
"I am in self-isolation and fully following the consultation of physicians. I am reviewing all tasks virtually," he tweeted.
"After initial symptoms, I got myself tested. My report is positive. I am in self-isolation and following doctors advice. I am doing all the work virtually," Adityanath tweeted from his official Twitter handle.
On Tuesday evening, Adityanath stated that he is isolating himself after several officials in his secretariat tested positive for Covid.
The Chief Minister said on Wednesday that he would remain in home isolation and follow the instructions of the doctors. He also said that he would continue doing his work through virtual means.
The Chief Minister further advised those he had met in the past few days to get themselves tested.
Earlier, he had said, "The officers of my office tested positive for coronavirus. They were in touch with me, therefore, as a precaution, I am isolating myself and starting all my work digitally.”

Yogi had on April 5 received his first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine in Lucknow and had urged people to follow all the guidelines and asked eligible people to take the vaccine. The Uttar Pradesh government last week had ordered to shut down all schools till April 30 and directed to impose night curfew from 9 pm to 6 am in districts reporting more than 100 new infections every day. Uttar Pradesh reported a single-day spike of 17,963 covid cases in the last 24 hours, while as many as 85 people died of the disease in the same period.
