The damage caused by the floods in Punjab continues unabated. In a recent incident in Firozpur, Punjab a young man drowned in flood water in Sutlej River.
According to the reports, the young man has been identified as Jagdish Singh S/o Veer Singh Bhagat. He was a resident of Village Nau Behram Sher Singh Wala and lived there with his wife and 2 children.
The incident took place on Friday evening when the flow of Sutlej River was at its peak. Jagdish was watching the rapid flow of Sutlej River from the top of the bridge when his foot slipped and he fell into the river. Suddenly there was a massive hue and cry in the village and around the bridge. Jagdish made a lot of efforts to avoid drowning, but he did not succeed in the strong current of Sutlej. Ultimately only his dead body came out of the water.

The surprising thing is that when the young man was drowning, instead of saving him or calling for help, people standing near the bridge started making videos of his drowning. It was an act of shame to humanity. However, this incident took place in Ferozepur district when the water of Sutlej river was receding rapidly.
